Summer Drinks

Summer has started and it´s the perfect time for cocktails. I decided to post some recipes for summer drinks, also if you know some good recipes, please feel free to post here. Icon_razz

Sangria

INGREDIENTS:

1 Bottle of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rioja, Zinfandel, Shiraz)
1 Lemon cut into wedges
1 Orange cut into wedges
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Shot brandy
2 Cups ginger ale or club soda

PREPARATION:

Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon and orange into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and add sugar and brandy. Chill overnight. Add ginger ale or club soda just before serving.

If you'd like to serve right away, use chilled red wine and serve over lots of ice.

Addition ideas: sliced strawberries, peaches, handful of fresh blueberries, raspberries, kiwi, a shot or two of gin, brandy or rum, a cup of ginger ale, citrus soda pop or lime juice.

Lovely.....

Piña Colada

Ingredients
3cl (one part) white rum
3cl (one part) coconut cream
9cl (3 parts) pineapple juice
Soda water as necessary

Problem is that summer came and went here in the UK. For the last week or so we`ve had a lot of rain, with severe flooding in parts of the country. Several people have actually lost their lives through drowning.

Roll on the nice warm sunny days again. Then those Piña Colada`s will look very tempting.. Icon_smile

What about you Geoff, do you know some good recipes for cocktails or you prefer Scotch Whisky with ice and soda? Icon_cheesygrin

I can drink most spirits, including Scotch.

My preference as far as spirits goes is for Bacaradi and coke. Well, any white rum really, but I brought some Bacardi back from my holiday in Spain the other week. Icon_smile
