Still Popular

Are borders still popular? I heard that all the TV graden makeover shows tell people to resist the temptation to make borders, as they are boring and just lead the eye straight to the edge of your garden.
I do kind of agree, but if you are a lawn man, the only space you are willing to give up is at the edges Tongue

I think they are full of it.

I think beds with borders are fine, depending where they are located. In row houses, and condominiums where everything have distinct edges, a random, no-edge garden would look strange at best.

I have a small (4' x 8') front of my condo, and it would look odd without the border, the rain would wash it away and when the grass cutting comes - they would trample it and chop it down! Smile
