Russia urges halt to US missile talks with Czech Republic, Poland

MOSCOW - Russia said on Saturday that Washington should freeze its missile defence talks with the Czech Republic and Poland pending examination of an alternative Russian proposal on using an Azerbaijani radar site.

"It's necessary to freeze the deployment of missile defence systems in Europe for a period of study and analysis and also negotiations on this issue," Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was quoted by ITAR-TASS news agency as telling journalists.

Hey Nina since you are from the Czech Republic what are most peoples thoughts in the Czech Republic about the US putting a missile defence system in the Czech Republic

Phil, most people including me (about 2/3 of population) sharply criticise the proposed construction of a US missile defence system, concretely the construction of a radar base here in the Czech Republic.
