PAD alleges police keeps 30 assault rifles inside post in Government House

Quote:PAD alleges police keeps 30 assault rifles inside post in Government House

Representatives of the People's Alliance for Democracy Friday filed a compliant with police that 30 assault rifles were found in the office of the Special Branch Police in the Government House.

The PAD representatives, Samdin Lertbutri, 55, and Kittichai Saissa-ard, 45, told an officer of Dusit Police station that 17 M16 assault rifles and 13 AK-47 assault rifles were found in the Special Branch Police building near Gate 4.

The two said 6,000 rounds of M16 ammunitions and 440 rounds of AK-47 ammunitions as well as 2,400 rounds of .38 ammunitions were found there.

This just begs the questions. "WTF were they doing in the office of the Special Branch Police in the Government House anyway?" "Did they break in?" "Did they have permission?" "AND What's out of the ordinary with the police that guard parliament having weapons to guard the parliamentarians?"

There is a well documented case where a gunman took over the Canadian parliament with a machine gun and the people protecting the parliamentarians were either unarmed or only had pistols. I don't find it unordinary for the Special Branch Police to have assault rifles, I do find it extraordinary that they didn't use them.
