LONDON (Reuters) - Supermodel Naomi Campbell was arrested in London on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting another woman, police and a media report said.

Police swooped on an address in Westminster where they arrested a 36-year-old woman, who was being held for questioning, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.

He declined to give her name because no charges had been filed, but the comments were made in response to a report on Sky News that Campbell, 36, had been detained.

The arrest came after a woman went to the police claiming she had been attacked at the residence, the spokesman said.

"Officers attended the address. A women aged 36 was arrested at approximately 1.20 p.m. for an alleged assault and taken to a central London police station," he told Reuters.
