Juventus to appeal relegation ruling

MILAN (AFX) - Juventus Football Club SpA said it will appeal a decision by the football federation to relegate the club to the country's second division (Serie B) as punishment for being implicated in a match-fixing scandal with another three clubs.

The club was also deducted 30 points from its total for next season and stripped of its last two titles.

The federation also relegated the clubs Lazio and Fiorentina.

Lazio was penalised seven points while Fiorentina was hit with a 12-point penalty.

The club AC Milan will start the next championship with a 15-point handicap but will remain in Serie A.
