Is it democracy?

Sometimes I get just surprized with the ideas of the West in general which suggest that Georgia is one of the most democratic countries of the former USSR. What bullshit mates!? Actually very few of you have ever been here and they were only allowed to see the things which were supposed to make that false impression on!
Well, let’s take the forthcoming local election here. By its example you can realize that all our democracy is only a cover, an appearance but not the essence!
You know the election may seem to you rather small-scaled and insignificant but in fact you should keep in mind that president Saakashvili came to power ONLY after winning the post of Tbilisi mayor which is now the ‘launching pad’ for the future president of Georgia. So there can be no talks about any kind of insignificance of the election.
Well do you think it all goes on very democratic here? No way mates! See, my friend who is a member of Parliament as you call them there said recently that Saakashvili’s government had adopted a secret article for election spending in the budget. And you know the contents of it are not officially disclosed even to MPs! But that’s only officially. Anyway they have the means to get access to it. So my friend has found out that budget (!!) money is going to be spent (if not yet) on giving bribe to voters and members of election committees. i.e. it turns out that people will be palming their own hands with their own money so as to pave the way into power for Saakashvili’s supporters!
Is it what you call democracy? Then let it go to hell that’s what I say!!
