I`m Going To See Paul Simon In Concert

Back in July of 2004 I was privileged to go and see Simon & Garfunkel in their reuniting concert in Manchester named `Old Friends.`

I`d seen Paul Simon in concert in Manchester some years before, but not together with Garfunkel.

Their gig was on the 14th July and was fantastic. The 20,000 tickets sold out for that concert within the first 2 hours, such was their popularity. The Everly Brothers appeared with them too.

Anyway, tomorrow, Paul Simon is back, this time on his own, and I`m off to see him again in Manchester. Really looking forward to seeing him.

And we weren`t let down either. He sang a lot of his material from the era when he 1st split up with Art Garfunkel, then some of his later stuff from Graceland. He also went back, as he put it, `into Simon & Garfunkel territory` with classics such as the one above, plus Mrs Robinson, The Boxer, Homeward Bound (which, incidentally, he`s reputed to have actually written whilst waiting at a railway station not far from where I live in his very early songwriting days), Celia and more.

A really good show and worth every penny. Big Grin
