Well I just happened to run across a thread on the MMG board about this forum opening and as Thailand is my second home I rushed right over to sign up and see what's what.

I'm from Canada but I spend about 4 to 5 months a year in Thailand. I know I know no place is perfect but I really love the Thai people and culture and I plan to spend as much time as humanly possible there every year.

I stumbled across MMG after reading Talk Gold and I noticed that they had a folder for Thailand, so I introduced the forum there

Yep Thailand is a great country, great people, food and the weather. When you are over next let us know and we may organize a TT get together

Can you speak a little Thai? If not and are keen to learn, we have a Talk Thai language folder :wink:

Well I have to admit my thai still consists of the main basics.. it's rather funny actually because my soon to be wife is from BKK and she picks up English far easier and faster than I do Thai.. no in fairness to me she works as an Export Director for a multi national company and speaks English daily in her position as most of the firms major customers are based in Australia and Europe...

Having said that I do love the language and try to pick up more each time I've there... in the future as I spend more time there I plan to take some courses to see if I can't move myself along more quickly...
