Flintoff back for England in decider

Andrew Flintoff has been named as expected in England's team to take on India in their NatWest Series decider at Lord's.

England indicated on Friday they were prepared to pick Flintoff, who has missed their last two fixtures in this seven-match series because of his troublesome left ankle.

The proviso was that they needed to be sure he had suffered no ill-effects from bowling in the nets 24 hours ago.

England's premier all-rounder had a pain-killing injection on Wednesday.

He takes his place as the only change to the team which lost a thrilling match at The Oval three days ago - opening batsman Alastair Cook the man to drop out, with Luke Wright retaining his place after an impressive debut.

India captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and chose to bat first on a cloudy morning.

India also made just one change from the Oval, recalling left-arm seamer Rudra Pratap Singh at the expense of Ajit Agarkar in a like-for-like swap.

RE: Flintoff back for England in decider

A good sporting day for England yesterday.

They comfortably beat India in the Cricket to win the one day series by 3-2.

They beat Israel in the football European match, and beat the US in the 1st round Rugby Union World Cup. Icon_cheesygrin
