England crumbles

[quote]
Quick wickets rock England

Andrew Flintoff was bowled by Shane Warne for 51 then Geraint Jones was run out for a duck to bring England to its knees on the final morning at the WACA today.

The two quick wickets left England on 7 for 336 with Kevin Pietersen (51 not out) the only recognised batsman still standing. The tourists need 557 to win.

Australia currently leads the five-Test series 2-0 and a win today will see it regain the Ashes which were lost to England last year.

Flintoff, who resumed today on 2, launched an assault on the Australian attack before he was out trying to drive Warne back down the pitch.

Jones came to the crease on a pair and was run out when he tried to sweep Warne.

The ball came off his front pad and the alert Ricky Ponting, at silly point, threw at the stumps while Jones' back foot was out of its crease.

Warne needs another three wickets to become the first man to claim 700 Test scalps.

Flintoff hit eight fours and a towering six over deep mid-wicket off the bowling of Brett Lee as he took the fight to Australia.

He hit seamer Stuart Clark for three consecutive fours to signal England's intent to chase what would be an historic win.

Rain is unlikely to help England, with overcast and humid conditions but no showers expected.
