Here in the UK a much higher percentage are now buying their own homes than was traditionally the case years ago. Younger ones are leaving home and expect to buy a home rather than rent one, though buying is now proving a bigger problem for many due to the huge increase in costs of a home.

What about where you live? In Germany for example I once heard that renting was much more the norm, with only a relatively small percentage actually choosing, or maybe being able to afford, to buy.
