Australian tycoon James Packer marries in France

Cannes, France - Australia's richest man, James Packer, has married singer Erica Baxter in a ceremony in the French Riviera resort town of Antibes, the French daily Nice-Matin reported Thursday.

The 39-year-old Packer, son of the late media mogul Kerry Packer, married the former model and one-time girlfriend of actor Russell Crowe on Wednesday in a ceremony that reportedly cost 6 million dollars.

The wedding was attended by some 200 guests, including Hollywood mega-star Tom Cruise and his wife, actress Katie Holmes, the newspaper reported.

Another Australian-born media tycoon, Rupert Murdoch, and his son Lachlan were also on the guest list, Nice-Matin wrote.
