RE: Are Pirated VCD's Common Place in Thailand?

I've just discovered I can buy non pirated just released US movies (English soundtrack) out of Thailand delivered to N America for about 1/3 what i can buy them here for, around 250 - 300 Bt. The same movie less the Thai subtitles is around 800-1200 Bt if purchased in Canada. Disney's Cars is almost $30 Can and i can get it for $7 us about $6.50Can delivered. While 300 bt isn't much in N America it's a whack to spend on a kids movie for the average person in Thailand. The companies are charging what the traffic will bear and they are in some part to blame for driving the counterfeit market.

I borrowed a copy of million dollar baby from a guy i know and it was a good movie except for the part where the two guys changed seats in front of the camera, counterfeiting is alive and well everywhere.
