May I Be Different? - dspine - 09-14-2006 08:20 AM Some scientists did an experiment with monkeys. They started with five monkeys in a cage. Inside the cage, they hung a bunch of bananas at the top of a set of stairs. Before long, a monkey went to the stairs to climb up to the ba-nanas. As soon as he touched the stairs, all the monkeys were sprayed with cold water. After a while, another monkey plucked up the courage to get a banana. Again the same result - all the monkeys were sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon, when another monkey tried to climb the stairs, all the re-maining monkeys screamed, bellowed and attacked it. The scientists then turned off the cold-water spray, removed one monkey from the cage and replaced it with a new one. The new monkey saw the banana and went straight over to climb the stairs. To his surprise and horror, all of the other monkeys attacked him. After another attempt and attack, he learnt that any attempt to climb the stairs resulted in him being assaulted. Next, another of the original five monkeys was replaced with a new one. The newcomer again went directly to the stairs and again was directly attacked. Even the previous newcomer took part in the punishment! Likewise, the third, fourth then fifth monkeys were replaced. Every time the newest monkey took to the stairs, he was attacked. After replacing all the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys had ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approached the stairs to try for the banana. Why not? Because as far as they knew that's the way it had always been done. 62% of Australians have taken drugs in the last 2 weeks. Why is sickness 'normal' in our society? Because that's the way it's always been done. Choose health - Choose Chiropractic. "The important thing is to never stop questioning" - Albert Einstein. - TS247 - 09-14-2006 01:13 PM WOW, So True!!!
