In Finland the national food is potato (usually boiled).
However, we do have some specialities:

Oh... Finnish people consume more coffee than anyone in the world. Almost 10 kg per year or 0,45 liters per day...
Gotta go and have a cup....

The kalakukko sounds rather interesting, jaukki. Does it have to be a particular type of fish, or just anything which is `in season?`

Also, do you go in for smorgasbord much in Finland?

Fish usually used is vendace or "muikku" as we call it. But sometimes kalakukko can be filled with for example Salmon.
