Glitter loses child sex abuse appeal

Disgraced former rocker Gary Glitter has lost his appeal over his conviction for child sex abuse in Vietnam.
Glitter, whose real name is Paul Francis Gadd, had earlier declared "I'm innocent" after he was led out of a padlocked green police vehicle in handcuffs and marched into the court.
In March, he was sentenced to three years in jail after being found guilty of abusing two girls aged 10 and 11 in the resort town of Vung Tau.
Glitter - a registered sex offender in the UK after a 1999 child porn conviction - was dressed in a black cap, black shirt and black trousers.
As he went into court, he told journalists that he was confident about the appeal. "I should be released," he said.
The 62-year-old has been imprisoned in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau since last November after his arrest at Ho Chi Minh City airport.
