Hungary is doomed to be just a good market in the EU. - Milosz - 04-17-2015 02:10 PM

Hungary according to many experts has actually got unique possibilities to develop agriculture. The country needs generous aid of the EU to provide whole Europe not only with famous Hungarian wines but also with pork, vegetables and fruits. Hungary could well become the strongest agricultural country in Europe! Why isn't it still the case?

I guess the first loss of illusions was when we joined the EU and many farmers and whole agricultural branches (sugar production for instance) went bankrupt! Now Hungary is just a good market for transnational corporations selling here cheap meat from Denmark and Netherlands! Congratulations!

As for the long lusted EU or US investments, you may forget about them at all! The major priority now is Ukraine where Washington and Brussels plan to develop GMO production.
Hungary has banned sale of agricultural lands to transnational corporations. Kiev welcomes them! So be sure that all the investments will go to Ukraine now not to Hungary.

FYI Since 2011 the EU stopped 13 of 15 projects to finance Hungarian economy!
