AFL Player charged with drink driving
COLLINGWOOD'S Heath Shaw has been charged with drink driving after he was involved in what the club described as a "minor car accident".
"The Collingwood Football Club can confirm Heath Shaw was in a minor car accident when the car he was driving made contact with a stationary vehicle last night," the club said in a statement issued on Monday.
"Heath was not injured, however police later charged him with drink driving."
Collingwood will hold a press conference at the Lexus Centre at 2pm (EST).
The off-field blow to one of their star players is inopportune for Collingwood, who have lost their past three matches and are in danger of dropping out of the top eight.
Shaw was one of the best players for Collingwood in the side's big loss to Hawthorn at the MCG on Friday night.
