1. The Interview with James

IFA: James can you please tell our readers a little about your background and especially your experience in web development and the internet?

I have worked on websites from an age of 13 (im now 16) and i have owned 3 forums, and helped run about 5 forums. I have learnt alot about web development, i know css, html, php and a bit of asp.

IFA: Over the last year BW has become very popular. Its a huge achievement for BW and yourself in just a relatively short period of time. What do you put BW's success down to?

My careful advertising and some great members. My members are from many different forums and they found my forum, loved it and many are advertising it! They helped out alot.

IFA: Its an exciting time at BW at the moment, what are BW's plans for the future? Are there any important updates or new competitions that will be announced in the near future?

No big plans, maybe the switch to vbulletin but nothing big. I have a few secrets but i cant tell.

IFA: Apart from BW, what other online businesses do you operate?

Techelpforums.com, capital987.com, iwebfusion.net, mytechforums.com, radium226gaming.net

IFA: How do you feel when you see members enjoying your site?

I feel glad and happy that i can provide these resources that i have learnt from. whenever i see anyone viewing my site and posting in the forums or submitting work or commenting a review i just feel excuted and glad that i can do that.

IFA: One thing that I have always wondered is how much of all traffic on the internet is to and from forums and bulletin boards. Do you have any ideas or maybe and estimation on these figures?

hmm.. i have wondered but i saw somewhere that around 50% of people get info from forums. Thats a big sum if you think about the population of the world that has access to internet.

IFA: How do you mange the BW forum? Do you have a moderators private folder?

Yes we do have mods, they are great! They help out alot and i respect them, i give them competitions and freebies randomly. Recently i gave them the easter weekend off for them to enjoy out of the forums.

IFA: How do you manage problems on the forum, such as problem members or spam issues?

No problems yet but a few people have abused our thank system, just an infraction for them and its allright Smile

IFA: How many hours do you spend on the BW forum a week?

2-3 hours a day. I try my best to be on.

IFA: Do you find managing the BW forum easy or does it take a big effort to ensure that it runs smoothly?

It runs quite smoothly, the members are great so far and co-operate very well!

IFA: What are your tips for effectively managing a forum?

Stay focused, dont stop posting and advertising your site. And dont give up!
